Certified Copy Requirements

Suitable certifiers of documents are:

  • Lawyers registered to practice in the relevant jurisdiction;

  • Chartered Public Accountants identifiable in a public directory;

  • Notary public, Commissioner for Oaths or a formally appointed member of the judiciary (i.e. judge or other court officer)

  • Officer of an embassy, consulate or high commission of the country of issue of the document

  • Director, Officer or Manager of a regulated credit or financial institution

 

When certifying the document, a certifier should:

  • use wording similar to “I hereby certify that this is a complete and accurate copy of the original.”

  • sign and date the copy of the document, no earlier than 6 months before the subscription date

  • print his/her name clearly underneath the signature line

  • indicate his/her position or capacity

  • provide contact email address and phone number
